Garrett
King is a freshman at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. The
former Hancock county 4-Her is studying English as a Second Language
(ESL) and plans to teach ESL after he earns both his undergraduate
and master's degrees. Garrett credits 4-H with getting him started
on his career path.
Garrett's interest
in Japan, the Japanese language, and ESL began with the 4-H
International Exchange program. Through the program, Garrett
traveled to Japan at age 13 and his family hosted three month-long
students and two year-long students.
Garrett says,
"4-H has changed me as a person. Without 4-H, I couldn't imagine
where I would be today. I want to say 'thank you' to everyone for
helping me and for letting my ideas be accomplished."
