The Cloverbud Activity Record is used to give 4-H Cloverbud members an age-appropriate introduction to 4-H recordkeeping.  If possible, members should fill in the record themselves.  However, if they cannot yet write independently, they may dictate their record to an adult or older member.  Working on records during club meetings is a good way to help young members learn about the parts of the record and how to fill them out.

Pages One and Two cover the whole year and are only done once.  On the Life Skills wheel, Cloverbuds may choose to color in either the middle ring (giving, working, etc.) or the life skills in the outer ring ( more appropriate for 7 and 8 year old members).  On Page Two, members will describe ways they used their head, heart, hands and health as they did their all of their activities over the 4-H year.  Referring to the life skills wheel will help them think about the kinds of skills that go with each H.  Five and six year olds especially may need help with this section, but often members have some really good ideas about the way they used the “H’s”.

Pages Three and Four are records done for each of the member’s activities and are completed at the end of each activity, so these pages will be done multiple times. It is recommended that Cloverbud members do these pages for two activities.  They may do as many beyond that as they would like. 

Cloverbud records are not judged, but should be reviewed and feedback provided in a positive manner.  All Cloverbuds should receive the same form of recognition for their records.
