What is
ESE?
ESE is a regional dog show held usually during the last weekend of
September. The show is held in West Springfield, Massachusetts at
the Eastern States Exposition Fairgrounds (commonly known as The Big
E). Participants compete in Showmanship and Obedience
and
have the opportunity to participate in quiz bowl and a fun agility
class. Participants are chosen from their state by their state’s
selection process. Participants may either go as a steward, without
a dog or go as a delegate with a dog. Below are pictures of the 2007
Eastern States Exposition and links to more ESE Dog Show information
and Maine’s selection process.

or the Bangor State Fair Dog Show. The dog committee encourages you
to participate in both to get as much exposure to showing your dog
and knowledge needed for ESE. Members wanting to try out must also
take and pass an open book quiz and a closed book quiz. More
information about the quizzes will be given once an intent form has
been received by the dog representative.
