Dear 4-H Judges and Interested Participants,

We will be holding our New England Judge’s School in April 2009.

Noting the geographical challenge of New England we will plan to hold school
in what is a more convenient location, Central Massachusetts.

The dates for school will be Saturday and Sunday, April 18th and 19th, 2009. The New England weather should be at a lesser chance for snow then.

The Days Inn Gateway Conference and Banquet Center of Chicopee, MA will be our hosting facility. There is a block of rooms set aside for us at a reduced rate. When you call to make reservations please tell them you are with the 4-H Volunteer Training. Their contact number is 413-739-7311. The block of rooms will be reserved until Feb. 18, 2009.

Our live judging will be on Sunday am at the UMASS Hadley Horse Farm. We should be finished by noon for you to travel.

Registration will be Saturday morning from 9 to 10, at the hotel.  Our rulebook update and workshops will start at 10. Lunch will be included with your registration fee. A complete schedule and directions will be sent after we receive your registration. Please note that if you were carded in 2005 or before and have not attended any other judge’s school you must attend this one and renew your application to remain on our list.

If you are renewing your application and have attended either the Pennsylvania or Multistate Judge’s School in 2007 or 2008 we accept that attendance. You must show proof of attendance for either of them.

Enclosed or attached you will find all forms needed to register for school and apply for your New England Judge’s Card or your renewal.

Thank you for your interest in our program and youth,

Sherri Thornton, Committee Chair
New England 4-H Horse Program
