4-H has an EDGE for Youth!
4H Clubs Using Fast Track Video Technology
The first video clip in the play list is provided by The University of Maine Cooperative Extension; the remaining five are from 4-H Network News, which is a youth-run Internet multi-media service based in Jefferson County, WA in partnership with WSU Extension and Washington State University. http://www.fastgrants.org/2007/video_4H.htm
The 4-H EDGE (Engagement, Direction, and Goals for Education) program is an opportunity for Maine youth ages 11 – 15 who are considering college in their future. The EDGE program, will bring youth to the University of Maine Campus to:
Engage them with some of the great things students can study at the university through hands-on workshops.
Encourage youth to set a direction as they look forward to future college experiences.
Create goals for future success.
Free parent or guardian track.
Helping your child lay the groundwork for college admission as they move into and through their high school years
Getting scholarship information ready with a focus on what youth can do to qualify for different kinds of scholarship aid
Will have an introduction to some of the options for financing college
4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
Maine 4-H Youth Development Mission
Educate and empower Maine youth through hands-on and community based experiences.
Maine 4-H Youth Development Vision
Maine youth acquire the knowledge, life skills, leadership abilities and attitudes to help them succeed now and in the future
through effective collaborations, hands-on experiential education and self-directed learning.
