Small-Business Education

 University of Maine Cooperative Extension provides small-business education for Maine people. Workshops help home-based and micro-enterprise business entrepreneurs improve their decision-making and business management skills, especially in the "thinking about it" stage, so their businesses can grow and prosper.

Workshops and business management publications cover a variety of business-related topics, including

  • marketing
  • pricing
  • financial management
  • Internet marketing
  • record keeping; and
  • customer service.

Our highly successful "Small-Business Clinic" program is available through selected county Extension offices across the state. Small-business clinics are confidential individual consultations with Umaine Extension faculty that provide information and learning opportunities that are based on research and practical experience.
