Extension Garden Project:

The 2003 class of Master Gardeners took on the project of establishing a perennial garden next to the Extension Office Building.

They have done a wonderful job with a very difficult location. They had to remove the established grass and weeds; work around the Mountain Ash Tree; and plant herbaceous perennial plants due to the impact of the snow off the slate roof of the building. A wonderful stone wall helps to camouflage the bulkhead to the basement meeting room. And you will notice a special gift of the little brown jug.

Louie Ritter is coordinator of the project, with the following Master Gardeners working on the garden. Ginger Twitchell, Dave Kirkman, Jeanne and Rick Kurzius, Cheri Wentworth, Peggy Phillips, Joanne Estes, Robyn Simmons, Gale Robinson, and Carol Blanchard.

The Master Gardeners plan to continue on with this project in future years to keep the area beautiful.
