for better biking in the great State of Maine.
The Northeast Region of the Rail-Trails Conservancy

A 10,000-member organization provides information, guide books,
and seminars on rail-trails throughout the northeast.
Phillpps Brook Back Country (http://www.phillipsbrook.org/), an example
of private sector backcountry development, included 11 yurts on
24,000 leased acres in Vermont. Due to a recent sale of these lands
by IP, Phillips Brook is seeking new options for its unique
backcountry program. Check out their Green and Galusha Hill Lodges.

The Rivers, Trails, Conservation Assistance Program, is a community
resource of the National Park Service. RCTA staff work with community
groups, local and State government to develop trails and greenways,
conserve rivers, and preserve open space.

The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) is an assistance program of
the Federal Highway Administration which makes funds available to
the States to develop and maintain recreational trails and trail-related
facilities for both nonmotorized and motorized recreational trail
