The Piscataquis County Office of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension provides educational resources to county residents who are considering starting a home-based business. We can work with you at any stage of your business, especially if you are at the "thinking about it" or "just starting" stage.
As with all Extension programs, information and learning opportunities are based upon research and practical experience. Extension programs and publications are available to anyone for free or at cost.
We work with people in a number of ways. In partnership with Extension's business and economics specialist based at the University of Maine, we conduct workshops on a variety of home-based business topics. Also, we publish a variety of publications about Maine business situations. Business planning, market research, pricing, financial management and balancing business and family are key topics you will want to consider in planning for the success of your home-based business.
