November Garden Activities:
· Check houseplants for insect infestations. Be especially vigilant for spider mites. The first evidence you see might be webbing on the growth points of the leaves. The little moving dots are the mites. You give your plant a shower with a strong jet of water to dislodge the mites. There are also pesticides available to control these pests.
· Check crops you put into storage for any signs of rot or decay. Remove any potatoes, squash, apples, etc. when you see soft discolored areas on the vegetables or fruit. You know what they say. One rotten apple can spoil the whole barrel.
Start making your holiday gift list with gardening tools, books, and products that you would like to receive or give to other gardeners.
