March Garden Activities:

· Start seeds in a warm area and move to a warm, sunny area once they have germinated.

· If snow is higher than your tree guards on your apple trees you should consider going out on a pair of snow shoes to try to pack down the snow around the trees so the voles and mice won’t have a chance to girdle the bark of your trees.

· When the snow finally melts it will be time to think about pruning our fruit trees. Usually we say when the maple syrup producers start tapping trees is a good time to start pruning, but when a homeowner just has a few trees to prune it is better to wait until you can easily move around the trees so you can determine what needs to be pruned out.
