Starting Seeds… Is it Time Yet?

             The February newsletter started with these words “with over three feet of snow on the garden…” Guess what there is still three feet of snow on the garden, but the days are getting longer and the sun is getting stronger.  It is time to think about starting some of our vegetable transplants for the garden.

Here are a few vegetables you can consider starting in March.

Broccoli Cabbage Cauliflower

Pepper Tomato Eggplant

Head lettuce

        And here are a few flowers that you can consider starting in March.

Ageratum (Ageratum) Scabiosa (Scabiosa)

Snapdragon (Antirrhinum) Verbena (Verbena)

Periwinkle (Vinca) Dianthus (Dianthus)

Scarlet sage (Salvia) Statice (Limonium)

Painted tongue  (Salpiglossis)

Bells of Ireland (Moluccella)
