How to collect and submit samples for
identification :
Today's date:
Whenever possible, collect entire plants,
complete with flowers and/or fruits.
Please do not send just one or two
leaves. Roots, flowers, stems, thorns, etc., often provide important clues to
plant identity.
Fold your plant sample into a piece of paper
or a plastic bag, and insert it into a mailing envelope.
If sending a sample suspected of being
dermally toxic (example: poison ivy), write "caution" on the outside of the
envelope, and enclose the plant sample in a plastic bag.
