LEAP: Lake Education and Action Project

LEAP is a program sharing partnership between the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, University of Vermont Extension/Lake Champlain Sea Grant, and the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension. Instead of attempting to start new programs from scratch in each of the three states, we share program details across state lines.

A three-year grant from the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture has given us the resources to share and learn. In addition to sharing programs, we are also able to try some new initiatives.

Shared Programs (originated in Maine):

Shared Programs (originated in New Hampshire):

  • Following the Flow Watershed Assessment

  • Outreach Planning (New Hampshire Natural Resources Outreach Coalition)

Shared Programs (originated in Vermont):

Additional Outputs:

LEAP is related to the New England Regional Water Quality Sustainable Landscapes and Volunteer Monitoring Focus Areas.

This material is based upon work supported (in part) by the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Integrated Water Quality Program, under Agreement No. 2003-51130-02074
