Youth Conservation Corps/Buffer Brigade

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension (as part of LEAP, the Lake Education and Action Project) tested the efficiency of a college-aged Youth Conservation Corps (called the Buffer Brigade). Two to three trained high school/college students, led by an AmeriCorps Service Member installed buffers on lakefront property in Eastern/Central Maine.
