Apply to become a Watershed Steward

We are currently accepting participants in the Dexter Lakes Watershed Stewards Program, which begins June 2, 2008. The program is free. To sign up, call Chris Brewer or Bessie Wright at the Penobscot County Soil and Water Conservation District at (207) 990-3676, ext 3.

The Watershed Stewards Program is a volunteer program of University of Maine Cooperative Extension and LEAP, the Northern New England Lake Education and Action Project.

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension Water Quality Program is a partner in the CSREES New England Regional Water Quality Program. We actively participate in the following New England Regional Water Quality Focus Areas: Nutrient and Pest Management, New England Private Well Initiative, New England NEMO, Sustainable Landscapes, and Animal Waste Management.
