4th Tier (and beyond) must have an Identified Content Owner who is responsible for:

  1. Assuring that pages are in alignment with UMCE’s mission and support a Plan of Work.
  2. Enhancing the image and educational capacity of UMCE through the pages' appearance and content.
  3. Providing information beyond what is included on tier 1-3 pages.
  4. Development of page(s).
  5. Operation of page(s).
  6. Management of content (accuracy, clarity, usefulness and timeliness). Proofread/review all materials.
  7. Technical review (speed of loading, working hyperlinks, interactive components, etc.).
  8. Technical support, which includes a stable server to host the pages, backups, specialized programming when HTML is not enough, web related technology support and computer repair, and editorial and graphic support. UMCE does support FrontPage software. Please call the Computer Office for installation.
  9. Obtaining signed photo release forms from person(s) pictured in photographs used on page(s).
  10. Obtaining written permission to use copyrighted materials on page(s), including pictures and text from email.
  11. Crediting external sources of materials used on page(s).
  12. Including a disclaimer statement when products, businesses or trade names are used on page(s) or when page(s) contain links to a website other than a UMaine site.
  13. Including the ADA statement when advertising programs and workshops.
  14. Including (MUST HAVES):


How do I get my Web pages linked to the UMCE Web site?

Notify UMCE Webmaster, www-questions@umext.maine.edu, when your pages are ready to be linked with the UMCE web site. She will check your pages for inclusion of items listed in number 14 (fourteen) above and then link to the UMCE site when those items are present. Pages that meet the requirements will be linked within 5 working days whenever possible.
